Living Life and Loving It

These passed 2 weeks have been fun. Joseph is finally starting to grow out of his colicky stage and is getting more and more interactive. He loves to smile and coo and we have little "conversations" all day long. He enjoys when we ask him questions and he tries to answer them with a "Ahhh--OO". I know he is my child and I'm very bias but I think he is very smart and social. He gets bored easily so we rotate the toys on his gym and in his crib each day. But, he never gets tired on Ernie! Poor little guy has his first cold. We went to the doctors today because it's been a week now, but it's just a stubborn cold, nothing more. He's mostly fussy I think because he wants to play and because of all the sniveling he can't lay flat under his gym mat. The doctor says he should be better in another few days.
Here are some of the latest pics from the last few weeks. This is a long post so be sure to scroll all the way down.

Having a ball laughing a Mama. Field goal?!

We just can't get over how he sticks out his tongue at us when he smiles!

Hanging out with Uncle Daniel. Joseph loved Daniel so much. They had fun walking around the Seminary together. Daniel has mastered the "bounce walk" as we call it for colic hour (between 5 and 7pm). Joseph even hung out with Daniel while Jason and I went for a much needed drink together!

Here we are. Joseph is 10 weeks old in this picture. He looks a little concerned, don't ya think? Like my hair? I chopped it short because the little man likes to grab at it and he has such a tight grip.

Hanging out with Daddy on Friday afternoon. Joseph loves to study Jason's face.

He's getting so strong now. He can lift his whole upper body off the floor and he's rolled over 3-4 times now. He gets so scared when he rolls though... I think he get disoriented! It's really adorable.

Having a ball on his changing table just before the bath.

In the sling on a Sunday afternoon picnic as a family. Joseph loved looking up at the trees. This park is at a lovely lake right near our church. It's so great that spring is finally here and we can spend more family time outside. The sling is awsome! It's a great warm place for Joseph to nap and rest while we are out and about. He's loves being so snuggled up to me. We call it his "Little Home". I highly recommend a sling for all new moms. Mine gets both Joseph and I through the day.

Snuggled up and so precious.

Curious face... "what is that camera thing that's always attached to you Mama?"

Hanging out watching the Red Sox with Daddy. Joseph is already a huge fan... he actually watches the game! But only for a few minutes, he's not quite old enough for TV.

More to come soon! ...

And only 4 more weeks until we head to the northeast for the month of June!

2 Months Old Today!

"Hi! I'm two months old!"

Joseph turned two months old today! He went to the doctors for his check up and is doing great! He's 10lbs 2.5oz and growing fast. (poor baby also got 4 shots today too) He should be growing... he loves to eat. This smile is just precious. It's like he's going to turn inside out.

Napping in his bouncy seat. Joseph prefers the seat to the bassinet for naps because it has a button on it that mimics the car... our little man definitely has his preferences!
Hanging out with Uncle Steve and Ernie two weeks ago. We had a fun visit that included taking Joseph for the first time to Milwaukee to walk along the lake front of Lake Michigan.

The Dickey Men... and Ernie of course, Joseph's favorite toy.

Posting... Posting...

Hi to Everyone! In the throws of mommy-hood these passed two weeks I haven't had a second to blog. On top of that my computer is acting funny... we are working on fixing it today, so I haven't been able to post any new photos. Joseph is doing well. He was last weighed two days ago and is 9lbs12oz! He's outgrown most of his newborn clothes too! We've been battling a bit of colic and hysterical crying fits for the last week or so, but things are on the upside. He slept 4 1/2 hours in a row last night!
I'll try to post some more this weekend once we get the computer back up and working. Cheers to all! And a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both of our MOMS! Love you both.

Photo Shoot

Here are just a few of the precious photos we had done last week. Joseph was quite the perfect little one sleeping through most of his photo shoot and then waking up right at the end with one of his wonderful smiles! Jason and I wore ourselves out that day trying to get him to give us one and it was totally worth it. Hope you love these pics as much as we do... and don't worry family, we got tons of prints so check your mailboxes soon!

Easter Recap and Other Antics

Posing for Easter Pictures...

Joseph and all of his Easter baskets and his first Easter BUNNY!

Just Priceless...

OK...ok.. that's enough of all this picture taking.

Nope, time for one more picture.

Jason with Joseph passed out on his lap awaiting Easter dinner.

Hey, wasn't he just asleep?!

Proud Dad with his little Easter Boy.

Joseph ate a little too much lamb.

Cracking a cute crooked smile while playing in his crib.

March"ing" into Spring

It seems that spring has begun to arrive. It's been warm enough several days this week to take Joseph outside. Granted it's still quite cold so he is bundled up in his snowsuit and surrounded by lots of blankets! He loves his stroller and loves to be outside.
First family walk together...Cassie included. On Palm Sunday.

Thanks for the flowers Mom and Dad. They brought the Easter season to the indoors of this bleak Wisconsin landscape.

Proud Great-grandparents came all the way from Florida to meet their first great-grandchild. We had a great visit this past weekend.

Snuggling early morning with his Mommy in the rocker. Some days Joseph sleeps late, others he wakes up with the birds! This is our corner in the nursery.

Joe Days... Joe Days...

Uncle Gabe came for a visit all the way from Vermont! Joseph greeted him by breaking wind!... too funny. We hung out and watched LOST episodes and ate pizza together.
Momentarily passed out with his arms in the air in the bouncer listening to the dishwasher. Joseph doesn't like to sleep alone. He wants to be held all day while he sleeps.

He loves his new Baby Einstein gym. The butterfly with the crinkles is his favorite. It keeps him busy for a good hour each day.

Fresh from the bath tub, Jason spikes Joseph's hair! He loves to play on his changing table after his bath.

Rewind of the Last 2 weeks

Things have been busy around here these days. I'm just now getting around to posting again. Joseph is such a good baby. He is very easy going and well mannered. He loves to snuggle and wants to all day. He absolutely detests bathtime. He loves books and dancing around the house. And he gave us his first real smile on March 6th! We are having so much fun with our "little mannie". Here's a recap of the last couple of weeks. Can you believe he's going to be 3 weeks old on Monday?!!!
+
+
3/6- Happy Birthday Jason... one day early (It's really on the 7th)
We celebrated a day ahead of time...here we are posing with our little family. We had a fun dinner at home with including, Jason's favorites: Spanakopita, Rice, Salad and of course White Cake with Vanilla Frosting. Yum.

3/4- Spending the morning with Grandma
We took Joseph for his 2 week checkup. He's nearly eight pounds now, topping the scale at
7lbs 15.5 oz. The pediatrician said that his growth was "phenomenal"!
